About Us

We first made enquiries into renting an allotment in January 2006 and took over a recently worked but very rugged patch with a most spectacular shed.
During our first month we cleared all the rubbish, set some hard standing for our vehicle, repaired the shed, installed a number of water butts and rotorvated the open ground.

This year will be our fourth cultivating and growing produce on the plot. Were looking to bigger and bolder things than ever this season, with no half measures against unwanted pests. Not to mention our biggest project to date - with the installation of our own poly-tunnel.

Plot Details

Our allotment is a ten pole plot, with an easternly aspect and a large oak shed at the top roofed with slate. The soil is light but low in organic matter so dries out rapidly in hot conditions.

As always we are looking to grow more fruit and veg than ever before as well as continue to improve the look and ergonomics of our plot whilst maintaining our organic and environmentally harmonious practices.
We'll be mulching, manuring, watering, weeding, covering, earthing up, composting and hoeing our way into 2009 and will keep you updated.
Site Details

Our site is in Northampton on a block of land consiting of 58 other plots surrounded by lime trees and parkland. There is no allotment asociation but it has a high occupancy rate and a lot of very experienced gardeners attend.

Luckily it is quite rare on this site to have particularly harsh frosts, but it does however suffer quite badly from wind shears and pest problems of various kinds.
