Seed Cultivation Diary

Here we keep a log of the sucesses we have according to variety on our plot and document the types of seed we are going to be using each year. This is so that we can plan what to use according to our soil's preferences, in order to maximise the yeilds of crops on our allotment.

In the table below are varieties we are intending to sow and use on the plot this year. It also details its sowing date, location, sucess and any other comments which may impact on the varieties use again in the future. This will be regulary updated throughout the year and will be most useful in a review of our seed stocks next year.

All crops marked with a * are varieties we have used in the past and have proved successful in previous years. We always try and remain true to varieties that we know endure well in our soil. However, we are also not afraid of a little experimentation with new varieties and keep a special area of our seed bed aside for this. Take a look at our Planting Plans for further info.
